Johan van der Keuken
In 1955, the 17-year-old Joan van der Keuken caused a stir in Dutch publishing with his book Wij zijn 17 (We are 17), prefiguring the even greater furore that would greet the publication of Ed van der Elsken's Een Liefedesgeschiedenis in Saint Germain des Pres (Love on the Left Bank) a year later. Van der Keuken's book was as innovative as Van der Elsken's in its treatment of a section of society.

Jorge Campos
Jorge Campos was one of the most notable Mexican soccer players of the 1990s, Campos was a particularly eccentric player, known for his constant play outside the penalty area, his acrobatic style in goal, and his colorful attire. His strength in goal was his leaping ability and speed. Campos also made for an effective striker, an example of rare versatility in football. At times, he would start a game in goal, and transfer upfield later in the match, mostly at the club level. His trademark, self-designed bright kits contributed to his popularity.
European Extremely Large Telescope
The European Extremely Large Telescope will be a ground-based astronomical observatory with a 42-meter diameter segmented mirror. The design features a filled aperture mirror with an area of 1,300 m². The telescope's "eye" will be almost half the length of a soccer pitch in diameter and will gather 15 times more light than the largest optical telescopes operating today. If completed it will become the largest of a new generation of Extremely Large Telescopes.
