Dracula simia is an orchid native to the cloud forests of Ecuador and Peru whose flowers resemble the face of a monkey. Its name combines the Latin word for monkey with a reference to the long, fanglike extensions of its petals. Unlike most orchids, it thrives in cool, shaded conditions.
